Behind every great show is a voice. Actually, many voices. At The Vineyard, we find that the voices of our award-winning shows often have award-worthy anecdotes that few people ever get to hear and we’re tired of keeping them all to ourselves! So, join us and hear the stories behind the stage from the voices who bring it to life.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24, 6:30PM

Most know its trademark “dun dun” gavel sound or that its stories were “ripped from the headlines,” but as Law & Order became the longest running crime drama on prime time television over the last 20 years it also became known for its prominence as a credit on New York theatre actors’ resumes. Join Law & Order veterans Sam Waterston (“Jack McCoy”), Annie Parisse (“Alexandra Borgia”), MIDDLETOWN's Linus Roache (“Michael Cutter”) and Gina Gionfriddo (Writer, Producer) in exploring the impact and originality of this seldom-publicized, unprecedented marriage between the two mediums of stage and television.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 7PM

Join The Scottsboro Boys’ Colman Domingo and Sharon Washington — both original cast members of Vineyard Theatre’s hit Off-Broadway run — as well as bookwriter David Thompson, New York Post’s Chief Drama critic Elisabeth Vincentelli and Variety’s Steven Suskin as theatre journalist and critic David Rooney moderates a discussion about the complexities of developing theatre from the more risk-free environment of Off-Broadway to the bright lights of the Broadway arena.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 13, 7PM

From her highly acclaimed roles in films like Pieces of April, The Green Mile, Good Night, and Good Luck, Shutter Island, The Station Agent, Far From Heaven, and Cairo Time to her beloved performances at Vineyard Theatre in Nicky Silver’s RAISED IN CAPTIVITY and THE MAIDEN’S PRAYER, Patricia Clarkson has become one of this country’s foremost actresses for cinema, television and stage. Join us as theatre journalist and critic David Rooney asks this Emmy Award-winner (and Academy Award-nominee) about her life, her work and whether her appearance last year as Justin Timberlake’s mother in the Mother’s Day, viral smash-hit SNL Digital Short, “Mother Lover”, was the coolest thing she’s ever done.
