kathy-kateThe Vineyard Theatre proudly announces that its 30th Anniversary season will conclude with the world-premiere of Jenny Schwartz’s SOMEWHERE FUN.  SOMEWHERE FUN reunites Ms Schwartz with director Anne Kauffman, who worked together on the Vineyard’s critically acclaimed production of GOD’S EAR in 2008.  SOMEWHERE FUN will play a strictly-limited engagement from Wednesday, May 15th through Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St., between Irving Place and Union Square East). Opening Night is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th.  Tickets for SOMEWHERE FUN can be purchased by calling The Vineyard Box Office at 212-353-0303 or online at www.vineyardtheatre.org.

A story about connection – to families, memories, and moments in time, SOMEWHERE FUN follows Rosemary and Evelyn, two women who met “a hundred thousand years ago” in Central Park when their children were barely born, and who are reunited one windy fall day thirty-five years later on Madison Avenue. With their children now grown and the world changing rapidly before (what’s left of) their eyes, each finds herself face to face with the terrors, joys, and surprises of life and time.

The cast of SOMEWHERE FUN features Richard Bekins (LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, “Another World”), Brooke Bloom (LUNGS, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close), Kathleen Chalfant (ANGELS IN AMERICA, “House of Cards”), Greg Keller (BELLEVILLE, WIT), Kate Mulgrew (EQUUS, “Star Trek: Voyager”), Maria Elena Ramirez (BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, THE THUGS), and Mary Shultz (GO BACK TO WHERE YOU ARE, Quiz Show).

SOMEWHERE FUN has set design by Marsha Ginsberg, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Daniel Kluger, and wig design by  Paul Huntley.  Megan Schwarz Dickert is the Production Stage Manager.

Scheduled through June 23rd, SOMEWHERE FUN will be performed Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.
