This beguiling and romantic musical, with songs by the legendary Alan Jay Lerner (MY FAIR LADY, CAMELOT) and Burton Lane (FINIAN’S RAINBOW), has been completely reimagined in this new incarnation, as reconceived and directed by Michael Mayer (SPRING AWAKENING, AMERICAN IDIOT) with a new book by Peter Parnell (QED, THE CIDER HOUSE RULES). Lerner and Lane’s enchanting score includes such songs as “Come Back to Me”, “What Did I Have That I Don’t Have?”, “Hurry! It’s Lovely Up Here” and “On A Clear Day.”

WHAT IS A DEVELOPMENTAL LAB PRODUCTION?
The Vineyard launched its Developmental Lab Program in 1991 in order to provide artists with a safe and creative way to develop new works of theatre. Labs are small in scale and perform for a limited run that is open to Vineyard audiences, but closed to critics. Every lab at The Vineyard is a little bit different, depending on the goals of the process; in the case of ON A CLEAR DAY, the format will be a concert presentation. With all labs, the focus is on the storytelling: production values are kept simple and actors often hold scripts to enable playwrights and directors to rehearse and revise throughout the run.
