Sanders recently sang and danced in a fatsuit as Falstaff in The Red Clay Ramblers’ musical version of The Merry Wives of Windsor, Lone Star Love, Off-Broadway at the recently demolished John Houseman Theatre. He has appeared around New York the U.S., and in England in a long list of classics and new plays, from the original cast of The Exonerated. Hurdy Gurdy Man, Buried Child, and Loose End o Shakespeare (Macbeth, Petruchio, Faulconbridge, Mar Antony & Caliban) and Shaw (on Broadway opposite his wife, Maryann Plunkett in St. Joan) His feature films include: The Day After Tomorrow, Tumbleweeds, JFK, Kiss the Girls, Music of The Heart, The Matchmaker, Glory, Tucker, A Man and His Dream, Angels in the Outfield, On television, he appeared in the pilot of Peter Berg’s controversial Wonderland, portrayed ‘Terry Anderson’ in HBO’s Hostages, and guest-starred on Roseanne, Law & Order and Law & Order, Criminial Intent, among many others. The resident narrator for WNET’s international news documentary series, Wide Angle, Jay has also recorded numerous audiobooks.
